This performance takes her to Number 1 in the National Rankings and gives her automatic qualification for the European Championships being held in Boras, Sweden on July 18 – 21st. It should also be noted that she has exceeded the European Championships qualifying standard of 59.00 on six occasions previously since April this year with throws of 59.09m (Loughborough Alan Bartram Meeting); 59.70m (Loughborough International); 60.31m (Northern League Division 1); 60.67m (UKYDL Upper Age Group) ; 60.89m (Halle Throws International) ; 61.80m (UKYDL Upper Age Group) and now 62.84m at the National Championships in Bedford.

After the competition had ended, a delighted Charlie spoke to the Harriers about her day saying Getting a personal best at the European trials, I couldn’t ask for more as this has taken me back to the UK number 1, a metre in front of everyone else, secured my place for the Europeans in Sweden which i travel for in 3 weeks and takes me to 2nd in the all time list U20’s. I saved it till the last throw and it completely changed the whole competition. I am so happy to achieve this result and hopefully repeat again at the Europeans! Thankyou again to everyone who supports and helps me on a daily basis!
