Fixture 2 at Wigan saw an under strength Harriers Team due to exams, work, injuries and compounded by some athletes picking up injuries on the day, having to fight really hard for 5th place. This leaves the Club in 4th place, just one League point off 2nd place going into Fixture 3.

Another disaster beset the Team Photographer who had managed to leave the camera battery on charge at home so shortage of good photos for this report although Katie Buckingham’s attempted dive into the Water Jump comes out quite nicely!!

Even with the problems on the day, those athletes who competed went the extra mile for the Team – all the way from new Team members Lewis Old and John Iluga who had never competed before for a Club in League Competition Gareth Johnson and Chris Richardson-Dulling returning from their Rugby season to the highlight of the day seeing Katie Buckingham and Grace Handley do the Steeplechase, even though they had never done it before – as is evidenced by this photo!!!

Overall a really good effort by every athlete who turned out on the day – Gareth Johnson; John Iluga; Morgan Phillips; Joe Howe; Chris Richardson-Dulling; Joe Monk; Joe Howe; Joe Campbell; Ben Aspinall; Sam Pearson-Moore; Cameron Massey; Connor Davison; Olivia Brooks; Rebecca Orrell; Jane Saothong; Libby Bonis; Olivia Wilson; Grace Handley; Morgan Angland; Esme Pearse; Roxanne Oliver.

Amazing that these same athletes who were really stretched set 17 new Personal Bests during the course of the day in what can only be described as pretty bad conditions, for Middle Distance, and Throws.
