Three of the Harriers athletes went over to Trafford last week, all of whom were in good form. Alison Leonard entered the 1500m all male Race and smashed four seconds off her PB to set a new PB of 4.09.73. and was understandably delighted with the Result telling the Club that “I was really pleased to break my 1500m PB as it’s an event I don’t do that often, but I know that I’m a lot stronger over longer distances than I used to be, so I was hoping for something around the 4:10 mark, so I was delighted with 4:09” Alison now stands at the top of the North West Rankings and is 5th in the National Rankings for 1500m. In the 800m she lies 2nd in the North West and 4th in the National Rankings and is having a terrific year.

Zac Howe, home from Cambridge for the summer won his 800m Race and set a new PB of 1.56.85 and was really pleased commenting Very happy with the PB and the win, that time had stood for a couple of years. Room for improvement though, I’ll try to take a bit more off at the play-off next weekend!

17 yr old Morgan Phillips also won his 800m Race and set a new PB of 2.03.74. This is a four second improvement over last year (2013) – Morgan has also made real progress in his 400m time reducing it from 55.21 to 52.38 this year and shows he is in good shape.
