A number of Harriers competed in the Indoor competition at Sportscity on 17th March. Hurdlers, Connor Makin (U20); Ben Aspinall (U17) and Morgan Angland (U15) all coached by Bob Groves, contested the 60m Hurdles. Connor won his Race and got a new PB with an excellent 9.34secs. Ben followed him in the next heat placing second in a time of 9:75secs, just 0.01 off his PB. Morgan also placed 2nd and ran a new PB of 9:99secs.

Ben then tackled the Triple Jump, an event which he is growing increasingly good at, coming 2nd overall and jumping out to 11:96metres – a new PB. Connor tackled the 300m and scored his second win of the day running a fine 38:37secs, just 0.01 off his PB.

In the longer races – 600m – Harry Paige (U20) who is looking forward to this years outdoor Track Season, placed 4th in a time of 1:33.33.

In the 60m Sprints, Senior Jamie Vickery (Coached by Mick Hitchon) won his race in a fine 7.38secs, just 0.14 off his PB and a season’s best. Next up in the 60m was U20 Paul Coffey (Coached by Mick Hitchon) who placed 4th in 7:83 and a season’s best – Paul then went and improved his time and season’s best to 7:75secs in his 2nd 60m race of the day and just 0.04 off his PB.

Cameron Massey (U15) with best performances in all his events, was another young athlete with a PB on the day placing 3rd in his 60m race in a time of 8:18secs. He then went on to win his 300m race in a time of 43:38 and again a new PB and backed that up with another PB in the Shot Putt (4k) by finishing 2nd with a PB of 7:25m.
