A very welcome return for Holly Bleasdale last weekend at the INSA Perch’formance Villeurbanne, FRA on 13-14 Dec 13. Holly has suffered injuries over the last year and has had to be patient in her rehabilitation. That patience and hard work was rewarded at her first outing of the Indoor Season.

Holly was pleased with her competition saying ” I am happy to be back vaulting and healthy. After being injured I really value being healthy and doing what I enjoy the most, VAULTING!”

Another athlete making his competitive debut in this years Indoor Season was Paul Bradshaw at the Cardiff Met Grand Prix on te 15th December. Full Results HERE

Paul’s victory in the 600m Race in a time of 1.18.73 knocked a whopping 2 seconds off his PB and understandably he was pleased, commenting after the Race “ Competing this early was just good fun. Been running 49/50 through 400m in reps recently in training so thought I would see how long I could hold that pace for. A lot of fun was had and now time for Christmas”.  This was a cracking front running display from Paul and you can watch a video of the Race by logging in and signing up for free HERE

Over at Sportscity Paul Coffey, Morgan Angland, Liz Ashcroft, Cameron Massey and Ben Aspinall racked up a load of new PB’s on an excellent day at the Second of the Sale Harriers 6 Fixture Indoor Season.

Cameron had pride of place on the day, entering three events, winning one and second in the other two. More importantly he set new PB’s in two events. In the 60m Hurdles he reduced his PB from 10.27 seconds to 9.96;  in the 4kg Shot Putt his existing PB of 9.51m was increased to 9.91m which was a great effort. In his first ever attempt at 400m he ran a very creditable 61.80 which is proof of his improving work on endurance. (Watch Cameron’s Hurdles HERE)

Paul contested the 60m Sprint determined to break his old PB of 7.71sec. He went one better running consecutive PB’s of 7.57 and then 7.56. Another athlete who went determined to PB and win here Race (she was 3rd in the first fixture) was Morgan in the 60m Hurdles. And she delivered on her promise with a victory and a reduction from 9.66 to 9.60secs. A good start to her bottom of age U17 age category. Ben Aspinall entered the 60m Sprint and Long Jump placing 3rd in the 60m reducing his PB of 7.78 to 7.74sec. In the Long Jump he was a little off his PB of 5.79m in 8th place (5.42m) but there is no doubt that the longer distances will come. Liz made her Indoor debut this year and and a first ever attempt at the 60m Hurdles and starting really well with 10.37 sec.
