Lancashire finished in 3rd place at the recently held Northern Inter-Counties Track & Field fixture at Hull for U15 & U17 athletes. Competing for Lancashire were a number of Blackburn Harriers – U15 Connor Davison – U17 Ben Aspinall – U17 Nathan Billington – U17 Polly Pearse and U17 Rebecca Orrell.

Standout performance of the day for a Blackburn Harrier came from Connor Davison in the U15 Hammer (4kg) where he took his PB from 30.06 m to 36.01m (5th). Ben Aspinall contested the 100m Hurdles (6th) and also set a new PB of 15.76sec. In the U17 Hammer, Nathan Billington threw 36.55 (5th) not far off his PB of 37.91m.
U17 Polly Pearse competed in the 80m Hurdles (8th) where the action was pretty hot and ran 13.03. U17 Rebecca Orrell for once didn’t have the best of days in the Hammer and then competed in the Shot Putt (10th) with 7.77m. Mention also of another athlete – Alexa McTiffin – who does some of her training with Blackburn Harriers and is a member of Hyndburn AC winning her Heat of the 800m in 2.21.58 which was a new PB.
