European Mountain Running Trial

Jack Hindle had set his sights on this years Trial Race – European Championship Trial (Up & Down) at Whinlatter Forest, Cumbria, Saturday 28 May, in an attempt to win a GB Vest. It didn’t go exactly to plan with Jack telling the Club International qualification has been one of my main goals this year. Going into the race I felt solid and knew I had got some really good training under my belt. The race set of extremely fast, and split very quickly. I suffered with the early pace but came to, to bring back some quality runners. On the day it just wasn’t to be, but I can’t complain with a top 10 running against the best lads in Britain. It’s made me more motivated to come back stronger next time”

Colne 10k

A good day for Bryan Searby at Colne with his second race of the week and a new 10k PB for him when he finished in 58th in 44.16. Not an easy 10k course at all this one and once he gets on a flat one, look for a another big PB. Bryan told the club “My second race of the week. This time I fancied trying the road.Great mid week race.A 2 lap rather hilly route. But my type of course.Felt good on the climbs over taking quite a few.Perfect weather conditions. And pleased I managed to grab a PB 44-16”. Next home in this testing 10k was Lorna Sharp in 144th (57.27) and V50 David Morris (154th) in 62.38).

On the Fells at Fo(e) – May 25th

 RESULTS

In his first race of the week, Bryan Searby was out on the Fells telling us that it was “An enjoyable midweek fell race 4.5 miles with two sharp climbs 1000ft ascent. Started in a field and your straight into the first climb. A good race for anybody like myself who are new to fell running. I  felt strong after last few weeks off solid hill work, and noticed an improvement on my down hill speed even after pushing hard on the track the night before. Great to see fellow team mates Danny Teare and Ian Clarkson, who both had solid runs. Bryan Searby 43.99 – Danny Teare 46.21- Ian Clarkson 49.27″.
