Another year and another London Marathon under blues skies and perfect weather for running. The Harriers had five athletes competing – Allan Hartley; Kaylie Panaro; David Thornton; Mark Almond and Andy Buttery.

Leading the way home was Andy Buttery in 488th place (2:48.58) – PB of 2:37.29.  He was followed in by 800/1500m runner David Thornton in 3327th place (3:20.06). Next in was Mark Almond who was running in memory of his father who was the Clubs Endurance Coach for many years and also to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Mark, in his first ever Marathon came home in 3943rd place (3:25.22) and succeeded in raising around £3000.00 which was a huge sum.  Allan Hartley whose PB is 3:21.25 came home in 5736th place (3:36.32) and another first time Marathon Runner – Kaylie Panaro – who has trained really hard completed the Race in a really solid 4:07.01 even though she admitted to suffering in the last few miles.

In the Mini-Marathon Grace Handley knocked exactly a minute of her PB finishing 33rd in a time of 18.18sec and to top it all off, the North West U15 Girls Team were first.
