Really good runs in the U11 Girls Race by Hollie Cubbon and Leah Hoole. Hollie set off at a good pace around 12th place and worked her way through to finish in a very good 4th position in a time of 7.26, the same time as given to the 3rd placed girl. Not far behind came Leah who went off like a rocket with the eventual winner of the Race which probably cost her a little at the end. A courageous effort and she finished 9th in the 46 strong field with a time of 7.39.

V65 Mike Hazlewood who is still training and competing came over from Sweden to compete at the British Masters T & F Championships in Birmingham on March 9th and was reasonably pleased with his performance over the two days and told the Club “The Indoors/Outdoors throws went well. 1st in M65 javelin with 32.98 – a bit further than last year, 2nd in hammer (2 meters better) & weight ( 2 m worse), 4th in discus (2 m down) & 5th in shot (0.30m up onlast year). So the winter training was ok. Only managed one outdoor throw before this w/e so will take the positives and move on!” Great to see Mike still competing.

Cannot end this latest round up of Harriers athletes Results without giving a mention to Shelley Tattersall. Just twelve weeks after giving birth to her daughter Jessie she turned out at a 5k Park run and it was brilliant to see her running again. Dad Andy had baby sitting duties for the day as Jessie got her first taste of athletics. Great stuff.
