Alison Leonard goes from strength to strength at the moment. After winning successive Races at 800m (BMC), 1500m for England at Loughborough and the British Senior Women’s Road Mile Championships, she went across to Belgium on May 31st to compete at the IFAM Outdoor Fixture in Oordegem-Lede.

Alison carried on with her great form at this latest outing, running a PB over the 800m for 3rd place and 2:01.81 – which puts her fifth in the National Rankings – and she told the club afterwards that she was really happy to be back in pb shape, although disappointed to miss the ‘B’ standard for Commonwealths by 0.31! It was a good race but there was quite a lot of bumping and barging so hoping to go even quicker in a smoother race”

Rob Warner and Karl Billington are also in great shape at the moment. Rob took on the 1500m on May 31st at the BMC Grand Prix in Sportscity and knocked over four seconds off his PB to come home in a time of 3.56.14. This year so far, Rob has set personal bests at 800m (1.56.31); 1500m (3.56.14) and 3000m (8.35.45). Karl who set a new personal best in winning the 5000m at the Wtaford BMC recently also competed in the 1500m at the Sportscity Grand Prix and ran a seasons best of 4.02.52.

Charlotte Williams and Emily Warren, two of our up and coming U13 squad just love to compete and between League fixtures went over to Stretford for the Medal Meeting on May 26th.

Emily won the U13 150m race in 21.55, just outside her PB of 21.4 and then ran 2.37.96 in the 800m. Charlotte finished 2nd in the U13 70mH in 12.56 and High Jumped 1.25m for fourth place.
