Jamie Vickery ran the Senior 60m and 300m finishing 4th in the 60m with 7.35 and then went on to win the 300m in a new PB time of 36.70. Jamie in his own unique style told the Club that he “Ran like an absolute donkey in the 60m, 7.35s. As Simon Cowell once said to Will Young, that was distinctly average. As for the 300m, 36.70, first time under 37 and a huge PB of 0.43 compared to 2 weeks ago! I’ll take it!”

Bottom of age U15 Emily Warren was out again in her second Indoor of the season competing in the 60mHurdles, 60m flat and 300m and put in some great performances. In the 60m flat she placed 4th in a new PB time of 8.43, went on to win the 60mHurdles in another new PB time of 9.62  and then made it a hat trick of new PB’s on the day with a 3rd placed 43.69 in the 300m. A tremendous performance. Emily commented afterwards that “in 300m I got a pb 43.69 then in the 60 hurdles I got a pb 9.62 and in 60 flat I got 8.43 – I came first in the hurdles and 4th in 60 flat and 3rd in 300”.

John Ilunga was competing at his first ever Indoor fixture and had a really positive day. In the 60m he came in 5th with 8.13 and went on to set a new PB of 1.65m in the High Jump (4th) and afterwards John spoke to the Club saying that the day went well!!! Did really well pleased with my results especially in high jump. In 60m sprint time was 8.13 I did well too but I was just bit scared because it was my first time to do indoor but overall I am really happy”.

Brothers Cameron Massey – ““good day few pbs and finally 3 strode and really looking forward to jan 10th, pb in 300m and 60m hurdles” – and Nick Massey were also competing in their second successive Indoors and they too put in some very good performances. Rudolf’s Red Nose Race – Sunday December 20th

(Results not available yet)

Having won the Best 5k the other week, Joe Monk registered his second win in a good time of 27.54 in not very good conditions at all. After the Race he told us that “today was a good win. The course was flooded in parts…I managed to get into an early lead and held it from Gareth Booth….one amusing incident was some foul language a female horserider gave me as I passed her !!! I feel as though I’m running well and look forward to next year”.
