Pinhaw Moor Race RESULTS

Chris ‘fresh’ from the London Marathon after running 2hr 46.55 decided to have a run out an did well, finishing 6th in 33.27.

Andy was the next Harrier home (25th) in 36.37 and told the Club that this was “My second fell race in a week following hot on the heels of the ‘peaks’. Whilst described as a fell race, it was more aligned to a hilly road race with roughly two-thirds of the 8km race run on tarmac. The course is a straight forward out and back. Up to the trig on Pinhaw Moor and back again along the same path. Knowing that my shortfall is the descents, I pushed hard from the start and was in a relatively strong (for me) position at the trig. Then the downhill, which although my weaker half, was not as bad as anticipated. Maybe all this time in the hills is paying off? Finished 25/200 and so was really pleased with that all things considered. Also great to see Chris and Lyndsay at the event with Chris finishing in a great position and our new member Vicky bagging second lady home.”

Great run by new member Victoria too, coming home in 39th position and 2nd Woman, in a good time of 37.52 and for Lindsay who ran this type of course for the first time, placing 174th in 53.04. Afterwards Lindsay commented “Completed my first fell race, Pinhaw fell race, absolutely loved it, very tough first 2.5 miles that felt like it was never going to end then came the great bit 2.5 miles back down, I felt really good coming back down and got into a great rhythm and my breathing was spot on, thought I was going to find it too tough and had myself down for about an hour but I totally smashed that and don’t know my time yet but came in at approx 53 minutes. Would definitely do this one again”.
