First home in 4th place overall was V40 Andy Buttery with a time of 23.22 and first V40 on the night. Andy has targeted the 13 Race Series this year and told the Club “I found Kelbrook to be a lot tougher than I expected for a short race. It’s a real lung-buster so I was happy to hold onto 4th and 1st Vet 40 after being pushed by fellow vet Michael Keedy of Skipton all the way round. He got in front of me going up the steepest section, but I managed to pass him as we ran off the top and kept a gap on the fast run back. I’m planning on doing all 13 races in the Grand Prix and making the series my main goal of the summer. They all offer something a bit different, so although they come thick and fast, they don’t feel repetitive. I’m aiming to finish 1st V40 and top 3 overall, but its not going to be easy as the standard is very good and there’s a lot of talented local young lads that are keen to do all the races. Really enjoying it, and all the races are well organised, friendly and have great support.”

V50 Michael Toms wasn’t far behind in 14th position overall and first V50 in a time of 24.36, followed just seconds away by V45 Gary Pearse in 16th place (24.42). Sarah Toms placed 49th overall in 27.30 and was the second Woman home.
