Ben Fish is in great form at the moment. Top class runs recently with a 2nd place (23:58) at the Alsager 5; 2nd at at the Trafford 10k (29:59) and winning the Finchley 20 mile Road Race (1:44.07), was followed up with another PB of 65.27 to finish in 3rd place at the Wilmslow Half-Marathon in a thrilling finish – just 3 seconds behind Patrick Martin of Stockport (2nd in 65:24) – on the 24th March. It could hardly be said that any of these Races enjoyed the best of conditions which means that Ben is in the kind of shape and form to post more top class times this year in his quest to achieve the Commonwealth Marathon qualifying time for GB in 2014.

Sarah Ridehalgh who is in her first year of competing for Blackburn Harriers on the Track as a 2nd Claim member also ran at Wilmslow, finishing in 125th place out of 2000 runners and 5th V35 (83:44). Sarah’s PB for the Half-Marathon might well be challenged this year.
