Club Chairman Tony Wood will be announcing the Award Winners on the night. We are also pleased to announce that Damian Talbot, Executive member for Culture, Leisure and Young People from Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council and who has been involved with the development of the new Training Facility being built at Witton Park, has kindly accepted the Clubs invitation to present the Awards.

This year we will have the inaugural presentation of the Arthur Almond Trophy presented to the athlete with the best Track Performance of the season. This Trophy, donated by Sylvia Almond, will be presented in memory of Endurance Coach Arthur Almond who gave so much to the Club over many years.

Club Awards will given for the following Categories:

1. Junior Squad Trophy – (These athletes are nominated by the coaches of the Sportshall Group)

2. Junior Team Contribution to Track and Field – (This award goes to the junior athlete that has competed in most league fixtures through the 2012 Track and Field season)

3. Senior Team Contribution to Track and Field – (This award goes to the Senior athlete that has competed in most Northern Senior league fixtures through the 2012 Track and Field season with Mid Lancs and Lancs Champs also taken into account)

4. Junior Team Contribution to Cross Country – (This award goes to the Junior athlete that has competed in the most XC League fixtures through the 2011/2012 season)

5. Senior Team Contribution to Cross Country – (This award goes to the Senior athlete that has competed in the most XC League fixtures through the 2011/2012 season)

6. Most Promising Young Athlete – (This award highlights athletes that are usually new to the Harriers or just starting with the juniors and have started to make good progress through training and competing regularly and particularly look to have great prospects ahead for them)

7. Most Improved Young Athlete – (This award recognises established juniors who have really made a step up in their level of training and performance in the last year)

8. Outstanding Junior Commitment – (This award goes to athletes that have shown commitment and application beyond what would normally be expected in order to improve themselves or support their team mates)

9. Club Road Running Award – (This award is made to an athlete who has represented the club with great credit on the roads and conducts themselves in a manner that is a great example to the other members around them)

10. Club Fell Running Award – (This award is made to an athlete who has represented the club with great credit on the fells and conducts themselves in a manner that is a great example to the other members around them)

11. Best Veteran Athletes Award – (We have a growing band of veteran athletes who sometimes perform in specific masters events and at other times in regular club fixtures. This award recognises their achievements)

12. Best Junior All Round Track and Field Performance – (This award reflects their versatility and the overall contribution they make to the Track and Field squad)

13. Best Senior All Round Track and Field Performance – (This award reflects their versatility and the overall contribution they make to the Track and Field squad)

14. Best Junior Field Performance – (This award is calculated against the Grade 1 for each event)

15. Best Senior Field Performance – (This award is calculated against the Grade 1 for each event)

16. Best Junior Track Performance – (This award is calculated against the Grade 1 for each event)

17. Best Senior Track Performance – (This award is calculated against the Grade 1 for each event)

18. Arthur Almond memorial Trophy – (A new award, donated to the club by Sylvia Almond and to be awarded to the Best Track Performance each year)

19. Best Schools Championship Performance of the Year – (This award is presented to the athlete that has produced the best performance in a Schools Track and Field event during the 2012 season)

20. Excellence in Road Running – (This award is given to the athlete assessed to have produced the best road performance or consistently high performance of last year)

21. Excellence in Fell Running – (This award is given to the athlete assessed to have produced the best fell performance or consistently high performance of last year)

22. Excellence in Cross Country – (This award is given to the athlete assessed to have produced the best cross country performance or consistently high performance of last year)

23. Excellence in Track and Field – (This award is given to the athlete assessed to have produced the best track and field performance or consistently high performance of last year)

24. Award for Outstanding Achievement

25. Club Championship Awards – (Perpetual Awards go to the Male and Female winners from their best 7 results from 12 Champs events and an award is also presented to the handicap winner)

26. Members Award – (PRESENTED BY THE COMMITTEE)

27. International Awards – (This award is made to recognise our increasing number of athletes that have represented the country at international level during the year)

28. Young Athlete of the Year – (This award goes to the junior athlete who has performed to the highest standards during the year)

29. Athlete of the Year – (This award goes to the senior Male & Female athlete who has performed to the highest standards during the year)

30. Round Chase Trophy – (Within the club we have various teams and squads. This award recognises the greatest achievement during the year amongst those sub groups at Blackburn Harriers)
