Blackburn Harriers Matthew Heywood competed at the Conference Carolinas Indoor Championship at
Winston-Salem, NC on Sunday February 23rd. He had competed at five events though January and February on the lead up to these Championships and had been in consistent form. Taking that form into the Championhsips, Matthew threw three personal bests and took the Bronze Medal with a new PB of 16.84m with the 15.88kg Weight. Speaking to the Harriers after the Championships, Matthew told us that it “Feels great to finally get a pb. Added almost a metre to my pb in a really competitive competition“.
