Ben Aspinall contested the U20 Men’s Triple Jump and put in a tremendous performance. In his first competitive outing of the winter and after being unable to train properly, Ben jumped 13.45m to win the Bronze Medal. This jump was just two cm’s short of his PB and demonstrates that there is lot in the locker for the coming T & F season. After the event Ben told us that I came 3rd today, 13.45m but I was behind the board which is really annoying and could have had up to 30 cm extra I was smack on“.

Huzaifa Hanif took on the U17 400m, finishing 3rd in his Heat with a time of 55.95. His training has been hampered by injury and this was his first ever outing over 400m Indoors so a good effort.

Last weekend – Jan 10/11th – Joe Pearse entered the fray of competition for the first time this winter at the England & Wales U20/Senior Combined Events Championships in Sheffield.  Competing in just two events Joe went in the Long Jump with a distance of 5.82m and the 60m Sprint in a time of 7.71sec.
