This years Manchester Marathon turned out to be a quality race with twenty of the first fifty runners establishing PB’s. Andi Jones ran a great race to win in 2.16.55, just seconds inside the Commonwealth Games qualifying mark for the Marathon and followed home by the next three finishers all beating by some margin the 2hrs 20min mark.

Shaun Livesey, Chris Davies and Mark Almond all competed for the Harriers. Shaun, in his seventh Marathon to-date set a new PB, cutting nearly 5 minutes off his previous best time finishing in 2.46.17secs and 46th place overall which was a first class run. Chris in his first attempt at the Marathon posted an excellent debut time of 3.02.31 in 237th place and is already contemplating his next attempt. Mark also had a great run setting a new PB of 3.11.56 in 456th place and knocking a full 13 minutes of his his previous best.

Jonathan Bridge went over to Ireland to run the Connormara Marathon in Galway and ran in the Full Marathon along wityh 597 other runners. He had a really good race on a hilly course, finishingh 83rd in 3.35.32. After the Race Jonathan commented and said boy was it tough Made the Peaks look flat Hail Sun Wind and loads of hills Bloody loved it although the 2 mile climb at 23 miles into a force 8 gale was a bit annoying at the time Highly recommended and well organised race in a beautiful corner of Ireland”  (Results HERE)
