Lots of really good runs by the Harriers on the Roads recently producing a number of winners. Last weekend, Chris Barnes ran the crazily named Kirkham Kricket Klub Klassic 6 mile Race at Preston and won it with a time of 39.41, just 18 seconds in front of second place Paul Muller from Horwich. Still in Preston, Shaun Livesey went to the Elswick Express 10 Mile Road Race the week before and won the Race in 58.24, a minute and a half in front of the second place runner Juraj Gavura. Full Results HERE

Joe Monk won the Horwich 1 mile Street Race on July 17th in a time of 5.13 – 26 seconds clear of second place Joseph Wane from Leigh. After 3 of these Races, he is currently leading overall with two seconds and a win and has put himself in a strong position to win the overall Series title.

At the Fire Service Relays in Blackpool – Friday 26th July – Liam Atkinson at 14yrs of age – with an outstanding run was first home in a time of 14.17 just three seconds in front of fellow Senior Harrier, Chris Barnes (14.20) and twenty three seconds in front of another Senior Harrier, Tom Blaney (14.40).

Top team on the night were the Leg Irons (Harriers Tom Blaney; Chris Davies; Paul Guinan).

At the Todmorden 5k Series Sarah Ridehalgh (who competes for the Club on the Track) was 10th home overall (19.00) and First Woman, followed closely by Helen Leigh in 11th place just 4 seconds behind (19.04) and 2nd Woman overall.

At the Horwich 5 Mile Race recently – July 17th – Brian Fogarty ran a good race to finish 5th overall (29.06) and followed home up Allan Hartley in 38th (33.35) and Mick Nolan 63rd (36.13).
