After finishing 2nd in the first fixture at Bury in bright sunshine, the second fixture of Division West 2 in the YDL (Lower Age Group) at Blackburn’s Witton Park Arena brought with it atrocious weather at the weekend. A very big thank you has to be given to all the Officials who braved the day – it’s a side of athletics that is often taken for granted and we can’t thank them enough.

The fixture was a very tight affair and at the end of the day the Harriers managed to come through and win which puts them top of the League after the first two rounds. The day was a very close fought contest with at times, just single points separating the the first four clubs. On these days, when events are closely contested it is important that teams have consistency throughout the day and that is exactly what the Harriers provided with 17 wins, 18 second and 17 third places plus 31 new personal best performances.
