In was Fixture Two in this years Sportshall League last weekend and Blackburn Harriers are having one of their best ever years.
The Harriers Sportshall Co-ordinator – Alison Hulme – was delighted yet again with the performance of the Team and told us after the event that “Blackburn Harriers is in second place behind Preston Harriers in the Lancashire Sportshall League – as far as I am aware, this is the highest position that the Club has ever achieved! All of the girls teams (U11, U13 & U15) and U11 boys are in second place, with the U13 boys in 7th place. Thank-you to all the parents, coaches, helpers & athletes who have contributed to this success”.
The following athletes achieved top 6 finishes, earning points for the Club:-
Eleanor Allsop – 1st= 1 lap, 3rd 3 laps, 6th= Speed Bounce (SB)
Hollie Bell (first competition) – 6th= Long Jump (LJ)
Sacha Brown (only in Year 4 & first competition) – 3rd LJ, 3rd= SB
Leah Hoole – 1st SB, 6th 3 laps
Caterina Lombard – 4th Javelin, 5th Triple Jump (TJ)
Emma Love (first competition)– 3rd TJ
Ben Boocock – 2nd SB
Isaac Butler – 4th= SB, 5th LJ
Thomas Sledge – 5th TJ
Harry Thomas – 3rd SB
Myah Booth – 4th Shot Putt
Eleesha Charnley – 2nd LJ, 3rd VJ, 3rd 4 laps, 3rd 6 laps
Emily Raine – 1st TJ, 2nd= 2 laps, 6th LJ, 6th VJ
Christie Sturgess – 4th= SB
Hannah Cookson – 1st SB, 1st 2 laps, 2nd 4 laps, 6th LJ

Alison also commented that “It was very rewarding as a coach to see many U11s making their sportshall debut, which includes those noted above plus Harrison Allcock, Jalal El-Sakka, Madison Bontoft, Sian Coverley, Kiera Haxton and Demi Thompson”.
