On May 19th, Helen Leigh entered  the Crosby Lakeside Aquathlon World Championship Qualifier for London 2013, lining up with 201 other men and Women competitors. she finished 8th overall in the Women’s Race and 3rd in her Age Category (25-29) which means she has qualified for the World Championships in her Age Group. Not satisfied with that, Helen is after qualifying for the standard distance triathlon in her age group and will be trying to achieve that this coming weekend – June 1st.

As part of her ‘warm up’ Helen contested the Darwen Aquathlon on 12th May finishing 4th overall and 1st Woman and then went onto be 1st Woman home again and 11th overall at the Salford Quays Aquathlon on 23rd May.

Matt Nuttall has been really putting the training in as he gets ready to compete in yet another Ironman. In his latest outing Matt won the Ian Hesketh Memorial Duathlon  – 5k Run – 22k Bike – 5k Run at Rivington by 48 secs (1hr 15.00) on May 25th.

Candice Heyes (2nd Claim Track for Blackburn) competed in the Rossendale Triathlon on May 26th finishing 16th overall and 1st Woman in a fine time of 1hr 14.50 with 247 compettitors completing the Event. Results HERE:
