The Deva Triathlon is an Olympic distance triathlon which was held in Chester on June 2nd. 976 Triathletes completed the Race and amongst them were two of the Harriers – V40 Matt Nuttall and Helen Leigh.

Matt finished – training for an Ironman Triathlon – was 168th overall in 2hrs:16min.34 secs and came 16th in his Male Age Group. Helen came 482nd overall (2hrs:32mins.28 secs) to finish 12th Woman in her age group 25 – 29. Describing the “swim as really tough with over a 100 in the start wave and a 900m upstream swim….with lots of kicking and bashing between the swimmers” preventing her from getting into a good rhythm, Helen is confident after a good bike ride and a run where she felt comfortable that she could “qualify” for the Aquathlon World Championships at the next Race in Liverpool in July.
