Leading from the front, Ben Fish won the Race in an excellent time of 25.34 with really good runs from Tim Raynes (3rd) in 27.27 – Dave Almond (8th) in 29.29 and Chris Davies in 9th (29.44) all of which meant which meant that the Harriers took the Team Prize on the night. Dave Almond also took the V45 1st Prize and his first prize as a V45.
The lads were obviously pleased with their performance. Ben told us “Great runs by the lads, we had all four in the top 10. Tim did brilliant for top 3. Course was apparently 150-200m short in the past, so times will be slower“.
Dave said he was “Very pleased with my performance tonight. Got my pacing right from the start and moved up a few places on the second lap. Knocked a minute of my PB from last August and managed to pick up my first V45 win! Good turnout from the Harriers tonight and a brilliant win in the team competition“.
Chris commented afterwards “I found the race tough last night, definitely still suffering from the marathon, that said still pleased with the time considering I was struggling going into lap two. Well done to all the guys who helped win the team prize, having four guys finish in the top ten is a great achievement and well done to everyone else who turned up and had ago especially Lindsay Davies (the wife) who had her first go at a 5 mile race and did herself proud. Well done everybody”
