There was a surprise for the athletes at Training on Tuesday night when they turned up. Present at track side was Olympic 10k Silver Medalist Liz McColgan-Nuttall and former Olympian and National Cross Country Champion John Nuttall who when visiting friends who are members of Blackburn Harriers, took the opportunity to come and see the Club and its facilities.
Prior to watching they had a run, and John took Liz to show her the famous ‘Saucer’ on our cross country course which has hosted the Northern Cross Country Championships on a number of occasions and as recently as 2016, later admitting he took a ‘slightly easier’ route. They were both impressed by the new facilities at Witton, and our young athletes and coaching set up. A number of athletes and Coaches managed to have a chat with both of them, making it a special night for many of them.
