The weekend of May 10/11th was bathed in glorious sunshine for this years Lancashire T&F County Championships held at the Stanley Park athletic track in Blackpool. Once again – and we say this all the time – a big thank you to all of the Officials who gave up their weekend to ensure that the Championships took place with all events covered by qualified Officials. It can’t be said enough times that the volunteers who come forward and give their time freely, need to be continually supplemented by new volunteers from parents of young athletes and former athletes if the sport is to be able to continue to put on competitions. It is too often taken for granted and should be taken to heart.
