This event has become very popular with the Harriers and rightly so. It’s a good fun evening which caters for all levels of ability and gives everyone a chance of having a run out.
The Harriers had five Teams out this year….down on 2013 because of the clash with holidays……with some amazing Team Names:

MAD / MEG / HANN (Megan Clarkson – Maddie Elliott – Hannah Cookson)

HARTLEY HEROES (Alan Hartley – Tom Blaney – Danny Maynard)
As usual there was a bucketful of prizes for everyone and if those won by Harriers aren’t claimed from the Club House, they will finish up in this years Raffle!!

3rd PADIHAM 5 MILE JUBILEE CHALLENGE

V40 Shaun Livesey added another Race win for the year in this recenly held Race over 5 miles. Shaun headed the sixty three stong field to win in a time of 28.32, seventeen seconds in front of second placed Nick Gaskell. Nice prizes too!!

The Great Warford 10 Mile Road Race – July 27th

Two hundred and seventy nine runners on a hot day for this undulating 10 miler won by Chris Prior in 54.23. Blackburn Harrier Chris Davies had a pretty solid run finishing 14th overall in 59.47.

Todmorden Park 5k Series – Race 3 July 24th

Three Harriers in this Race of 115 ran on a blisteringly hot night. The heat didn’t deter Ben Fish who won the Race win a new Course record of 15.13. Supporting Ben on the night from the Club were Laura Hesketh finishing in 33rd place (19.59) and Junior Natalya Irvine who placed 47th in 20.51.

Harrock Hill Race – Race 3 July 24th

V40 John Sutton competed in this 191 strong field and had a really good run finishing 6th overall, second V40 and in a time of 35.59….the Race being won by Joe Johnston in 32.45 some two minutes clear of second place.

Lancaster 5k Series – Race 3 July 26th

A small field of just forty four runners in this Race won by Matt Lalor running for Barlick on the Road (Competes on the Track for Blackburn Harriers) in 15.51. U17 Joe Monk had a good run to finish in 4th place overall (17.06) and first Junior man.

Towneley Park 10k – July 27th

There were two Harriers competing in this Race won by Jimmy Craig in 33.44. Gary Pearse came 14th overall and third V45 in 38.47 and and V45 Ian Clarkson finished 68th in 46.55.

Worsthorne Moor Fell Race – 3rd August

Tom Cornthwaite who competes for Blackburn on the Track won the Race competing for Northumberland Fell Runners by just over two minutes in a time of 37.43 with Marc Hartley in second place. Liz Greenwood finished 39th overall being the third female home and first Junior in a time of 51.37.

Chris Barnes competed in the Senior Race of 52 runners and finished 7th overall in a time of 28.44. U15 Natalya Irvine competed in the 14 -16yrs Age Category finishing third in 13.36 and sister Alayna Irvine ran in the U10 Age Group placing 16th out of 25 overall in a time of 6.11.

Wagon & Horses 10 – 3rd August

One hundred and sixty three finishers in this windy and rain swept race won by Andy Norman in 54.56. Matt Lalor – running for Barlick on the Road (Competes on the Track for Blackburn Harriers) – had a cracking run finishing in second place (56.04).
