“Winning isn’t everything, but trying to win is!” It’s been a really enjoyable two days at the British Masters Athletics Champs 2016. To go head to head with County, British, European and World Champions in the finals of the Javelin, Discus and Hammer, has been a great honour, with the added bonus of catching up with some old friends and then making some new ones. Championship objective achieved. Despite not being at my best, I’m pleased to have got two new personal bests (Javelin and Hammer) and two seasons bests (Discus and Shot), final results and placings are being compiled. Through new learnings it’s very possible to do much better in the near future championships and reach new personal excellence standards.
“Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence”. “So that’s the curtain closed on the 2016 season, time to have a holiday, a few weeks rest, then the 2017 season preparation starts all over again with prime objective of competing at the 2017 European Champs in Denmark. I’ve really appreciated the steady flow of kind words of encouragement and support from family, friends and all at Team Blackburn Harriers throughout 2016. Thank you”.
