2015 had been a good year for Oliver culminating in success at the European U17 Championships held in Portugal where he finished 9th in the Individual Championship and partnered Zoe Gowers to win Gold in the Team Relays. This was then followed by him being selected for the Youth ‘A’ World Championships in Argentina where he finished 33rd in the Individual Event. The end of the year saw him picking up an injury and he has been working hard to overcome that. After his first competition of 2016 Oliver told the Club “After having recovered from an injury in January, I have been regaining fitness for for the past 2 months – in order to prepare for the upcoming competitions. The competition last weekend was the third youth competition of the year. The German, Egyptian, Spanish, Irish, Swedish, Polish and of course British teams competed. I finished in 11th place and have only left room for improvement throughout the year”.
