Last weekend – May 12th – saw a number of Blackburn Harriers compete in the Blacksticks 10k. Chris Barnes came 2nd out of 178 runners in a time of 35:25, just nine seconds behind the winner. Pauline Powell continued her comeback with another good race finishing 8th in 38:59 and winning the Womans Race and the Womens V35 prize as well. John Cookson maintained his current form with a solid 39th place (45:39).

The week before – May 5th – Shaun Livesey went one better than Chris and won the Dallam Dash 10k in a time of 35:28.

In between these two Races came the Haigh Hall 4 – May 8th – which saw 58 runners turn out and amongst them John Chaplin and Steven Foley who both were winners. John came in 11th place (24:41) winning the V55 category and Steven was just behind in 12th (24:50) winning the V45 category.

And not to be outdone, prolific father and son competitors Paul and Jack Wilkinson went over to Blackpool along with a massive 2342 other runners to contest the Beaverbrooks 10k. Jack ran a time of 47:16 with father Paul just 4 seconds behind in 47:20.
