Blackburn Harriers took first, second and third places and had their first five runners home in the top 15 to take the Team Prize as well. Ben Fish won the Race in 33.08, but was marred in his efforts to get out of the Track and onto the Road, as were other runners at the front of the Race. The Race started with two laps of the Track ensuring that the front runners got tangled up with the back and meant they couldn’t make the headway off the Track that they normally would be able to. Matt Nuttall came in second with a time of 34.34, with Brian Fogarty in third (35.26) and Chris Davies in 11th (37.09) to make up the winning Team.
Next home came David Almond who had a really good run finishing 14th in 38.00 dead and given the toughness of the Course puts him in PB territory – and – in 21st place with 39.18 was Richard Fogarty.
Evan Cook (V60) had an excellent run winning the Age Category 1st Prize in a really good time on this course of 41.54. V40 Marcus Sheridan in his first Road Race for the Harriers was next in 94th (44.51). In 186th place came V50 Ian Clarkson in 49.01 which was a new PB on not the easiest of Courses. V65 Stuart Furness took 205th spot in 50.57 with Carol Cookson just a few places back in 211th (51.05).
