Saturday night at Bury Atletic track took place in drizzling rain – the first we had experienced in the region for a month, but that didn’t stop Blackburn Harriers producing some pretty good performances on the night. (RESULTS). U20 Ben Stratton got the evening off to a start for the Harriers in the Men’s 800m E Race clocking 1.53.21 for a seasons best time and some 2 seconds faster than his opening race of the season which bodes well. Then in the Men’s F Race U20 Oliver Gill was just over a tenth outside his personal best as he ran 1.55.26 in 7th spot. Next up came Ross Harrison in the Men’s 1500m D race which he won with a new PB time of 3.51.12, leading from the front from start to last. Following that race the E 1500m Mens race produced an excellent run from Ben Makin who smashed his personal best, taking six seconds off to set up a new PB time of 3.50.84 in taking 2nd spot in the race. Abigail McAndrew was the next Blackburn Harrier to smash her personal best by some four seconds as she ran a new PB of 4.16.56 in 7th spot and 2nd U20 woman in the race. The final race of the evening for the Harriers came in the 5000m where Rob Warner-Judd and Matt Ramsden were featuring. Rob was running his first 5000m race of this season, finishing strongly in a time of 14.17.40 and 5th whilst Matt also running his first 5000m tarck race of the season and his first track race overall, clocked 14.27.44 in 9th spot.
