BMC Gold Standard & Grand Prix night at Trafford on Tuesday June 10th featuring a number of athletes from Blackburn Harriers. Ross Harrison got the evening off to a great start in the Men’s 1500m A Race taking second place in a new PB time of 3.48.34 which was close to a three second improvement. In the Grand Prix races U20 Jack Lamb entered the first of four Heats in the 3000m which paid off for him as set a new PB by lowering his time from a previous best of 9.23.47 by over 25 seconds, clocking 8.58.56 and 3rd of the five U20 athletes in the race. Next up was Ismael Alvarez El Hassany in the 800m Heat 3 race where he came home in 2nd place, running 1.58.30 in his first 800m race of the season. V40 Marcin Baranowski ran in the 800m Heat 6, clocking 2.06.72 which was a seasons best and a new PB by over a second. The new personal bests kept coming, this time it was U17 Agatha Taylor breaking 2.15 for the first time and setting herself a new PB time of 2.14.70 in 4th spot. In the following race – Heat 10 of the 800m – Keira Haxton ran a seasons best time of 2.24.29 in 7th place and two races later – Heat 12 of the 800m – bottom of age U17 Bella McCredie also ran a new PB of 2.30.70 – an improvement of three seconds. The final Heat (13) of the 800m saw V35 Sara Baranowska finish in 7th place running a time of 2.38.04. Back to the 1500m and Heat 2 had U17 Sam Aspey and U15 Jack Baranowski both lining up at the start. Sam finished 6th place clocking a new PB time of 4.03.84 having started the race with a best of 4.07.97 – Jack placed 13th and also ran a new PB of 4.10.15, his best until the this race 4.10.51. Final run of the night came from U17 George Holman in the 1500m Heat 5 where he came home in 5th spot, posting a new PB of 4.33.57, which was a six second improvement on his previous best.
