Samantha Murray was recently awarded with the Trophy for Modern Pentathlete of the year which is but the latest in a series of Awards and Medals that she has won.
Samantha won the silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics and the bronze medal at the 2012 World Championships. In 2014 she won individual gold and team silver medals at the 2014 World Championships and this coming year she is looking forward to competing in the Rio Olympics.
After being presented with the award by Jan Bartu the Performance Director, Samantha told the Club “It’s a real honour to win athlete of the year 2015 for pentathlon. I was really surprised to win! However it was really appreciated as I know my coaches and performance director select the athlete. It was really good to know they are pleased with my efforts this year. It was a high to end the year on and gave me a boost going into 2016!”
