In far from ideal conditions to say the least, Tom Cornthwaite entered the Men’s ‘B’ Race at The Night of 10000’s organised by Highgate Harriers in London. There were twenty one starters in this Race won by Sean Fontana in 30.09.21 – and – 25 in the ‘A’ Race which was won by Andy Vernon in 28.26.59.
After the Race, Tom told us that it was “Hard to sum up the race but here goes – Great event but poor race from myself, expected a lot more but running 25 times into a gale force wind with a bug knocked me for 6! The fantastic crowd kept me pushing on though!!”
Over at Trafford (Results HERE) on May 13th in the Grand Prix Series Oliver Aspden entered the 400m Hurdles fresh from setting a new PB of 56.0sec at Hull in the Northern League and also running a flat 400m PB in the Mid Lancs at Wigan in 51.4sec. Unfortunately, Oliver was the only entrant and therefore had to run the Race on his own in a time of 58.43.
