Father & Daughter Success

Christopher Davies, a recent new member to the Club and only recently having taken up athletics had a cracking weekend winning the Sherriff 10k at Scorton on Sunday in 38.05 – 158 runners crossing the line at the end.

Not far behind was Pauline Powell in 4th place overall (38.39) and first Woman Athlete and first V35. Really good to see Pauline back racing. John Cookson 36th (45.18) was followed in closely by Paul Wilkinson in 43rd (46.31). Paul is fast becoming an all rounder, winning Javelin contests at the Mid Lancs T&F League, competing in Throws events in the Northern League, running on the Road and doing Triathlons in his spare time!!

Not to be outdone, Chris’s daughter Amy kicked off before her dad and won the Junior Fun Run. It’s got to be in the genes. No accident that Chris is the nephew of the Club’s Secretary and Amy is the great-niece of the Club Secretary. Got to brag sometime!!!
