Ben Fish took on one of his favourite Races on Wednesday and nearly broke the Course Record winning in a time of 24.51, ahead of Chris Farrell in second place (25.24) and Tom Carson third (26.04). Ben was pleased and in relation to the Course Record he said “it’s about 23 secs out, but I was happy with that. I always run well there and it’s always good to go back to race it. I’ve ran in this race more than any other, one of my favourite races”.
Mark Almond back after a recent injury problem was the second Harrier home in 25th spot (29.52). He was followed home by the improving Allan Hartley who finished 52nd (31.38) and full one and a half minutes faster than in the same race in 2013. V55 Mick Nolan, who has just celebrated his birthday placed 151st (37.10), with Kaylie Panaro in 192nd (39.19) and David Morris who is chipping away at his time finishing 257th (46.17).
Jubilee Junior Road Race (2) – Wednesday June 18th

Amy Davies had competed in the first Race of the Junior One Mile Series winning it in a time of 6min.11sec. In that first Race she was eleventh overall in the mixed boys and girls Race. At the second Race on Wednesday she came in one place higher at 10th overall in the mixed field and two seconds faster at 6min.09sec to claim her second race win. Looking very good for a Series win.

Ninety Five runners lined up for this Race and coming out on top of the pile was U17 Blackburn Harriers Joe Monk winning in a time of 28.02 from Nick Gaskell in second place (28.41) and Joe Greenwood third (29.22). Joe has been setting PB’s all year and this latest Race is demonstrating his continuing good form. John Cookson and daughter Hannah Cookson also competed with John finishing in 25th (34.47) and Hannah 59th (40.01) and first FU16.
