Gary Priestley (2nd Claim for Blackburn on the Track) and running at the Trials for Salford Harriers finished in 8th place (62.04) and said after the Race that  “I have mixed emotions about my performance, gutted that I missed a place on the GB team by 2 places but also pleased with another fairly consistent run. The course was tough with a long climbs and long descents on each lap making the 9 mile+ race a real challenge”.

Karl Billington 20th (71.27) and 7th in the U23 Age Category had no doubts as to the severity of the Race for him saying “the race was the toughest and furthest I have ever done, it was even harder then the 10000metre Track Race I did at the European Junior Championships in Talinin (July 2011) which was run in thirty five degrees of heat”.
