U20 Connor Makin set new World Records at World School Biathlon Level in 2012 and has only just had them confirmed. This was a brilliant achievement and Connor was obviously delighted to have them ratified and told the Club “Recently I have received notification of my achievement of 2 World Records that I achieved while I was completing in Biathlon in 2012.

The biathlon consisted of a 1000m run and a 100m swim. The event was held at Crystal Palace Sports Arena in 2012 where I won the National Schools Final. The results from this competition are then confirmed and set to the governing body (Union de Internationale de Pentathlon Moderne) where they record the results here; http://www.pentathlon.org/wp-content/uploads/2013-World-School-Biathlon-Award-list.pdf where the times are compared to other similar competitions worldwide with countries from Italy to Egypt and lots more.

My records were for the 1000m run which I ran in 2:38 and the Overall Points – 2448pts (100m swim/ 57:54 (1200pts), 1000m run/ 2:38 (1248pts)) Both have not yet been broken but in 2013 an Egyptian came close to it. (see below)”
