Sophie Hitchon – British Women’s record holder and 2012 Olympic finalist, kicked off her season and preparation for the Commonwealth Games with her first competition of the year.

Her third place finish with 69.08 represented a solid first outing especially when taking into account that she has been throwing with heavier weights for some time in training.
