Luke Evans had a busy weekend at the Championships. Having recently recorded two new Club Records for the Senior Men (60m in 7.00sec & (21.76secs for the 200m), Luke was entered in the 60m and 200m. In his first 60m Heat, he ran 2nd in a time of 7.12secs to qualify for the semi-final where he ran 7.16 and failed to qualify for the Final.

In the 200m, Luke won his heat in 21.89secs and qualified for the semi-final where he won his race in a time 21.88secs. In the Final, Luke finished third, winning the Bronze medal in a time of 22.01. Speaking to Luke after the races, he likened the whole weekend as an endurance session and part of his preparation for the forthcoming outdoor season.

Karl Billington was entered into the 3000m and was in the final Heat (No. 5) and knew that he had to run sub 8:40min to qualify for the final. Karl took the race on in the second half and came home in 2nd place in a time of 8:37.50min, ensuring his place in the Final.

In the final, Karl went in as 7th fastest runner, but ran well to finish in 5th place in a time of 8:45.72 – the Race being won in 8:40.12 by mature student James Thie!!
