A fantastic day at Witton Park on Saturday when Blackburn Harriers hosted the English Schools Cross Country Championships at Witton Park. Forty four Counties from all over England and 2000 athletes participated on the day and it was a fabulous sight to see the different Races thundering down the field from the Start and the quality of the runs not only by the winners, but many, many of the athletes.
A big thank you to all those Harriers who helped build the Course on Friday and Marshaled on Saturday right through the day, but in particular to Richard Taylor who drew up the Course and organised the construction of it along with organising all the Course builders and Marshals.
A number of Blackburn Harriers were selected to represent Lancashire including Liz Greenwood, Grace Handley and Megan Clarkson in the Intermediate Girls – Katie Buckingham (Senior Girls) – Maddie Elliott (Junior Girls) – Josh Boyle (Intermediate Boys) and Jack Hindle and Joe Monk (Senior Boys).
