U17 Ben Aspinall contested the 60m Sprint (3rd) and Long Jump and afterwards said I was very pleased with my 60m sprint getting 7.78!” And so he should have been knocking nearly three tenths of a second of his existing best time in the opening fixture of the season. He was a little disappointed about his Long Jump and said “I achieved 5.60 which was a little down on my pb, but with all the plyo metrics I have been doing I can’t ask for a lot at the time of the year”.

U20 Connor Makin entered the 60m Hurdles (solo run) and the 300m (1st)  and was pleased with his performance on the day, telling us my 60mH after pretty much karate kicking 3 of them and still managed a pb all the same by 0.1 to get 9.23″…..in the 300m he had a really ” good race and came through the field in the last 100m to win the u20 in 37.1 which is a 1.5 seconds pb”.

U15 Cameron Massey in the 600m (2nd) in 1.43.15 described it as ” a truely intense race, that gave me a target to aim for next time”. Cameron also contested the 60m Hurdles for the first time indoors and put in a good performance, winning the event in 10.27. In the 4kg Shot Putt, he fell 40 cms off his PB but still had a very encouraging event by winning that as well. (Thanks to Peter Quibell, Cameron’s Grandad for the Video clips)
