What a weekend for Blackburn Harrier Isabel Holt. After being selected to run for England in the Junior Home International on Saturday September 4th, in the stunning location of the Mourne Mountains, Ireland, she left Skipton 7:30 a.m on Friday and didn’t arrive at the accommodation until after 8:00 p.m, in itself quite an experience! England completely dominated the event and won the Edinburgh cup! England won the U17 team championships which meant that Isabel got a GOLD team medal!! She came 5th overall in GB (England, Scotland, Wales, N Ireland and Ireland) which is an excellent achievement for her. The morning after – Isabel and the athletes – ran a 6:00 a.m mountain run up Slieve Donard before getting on the coach. Even if you win, you still have to train and what a testimony to Isabel and all of the athletes who represented their country.
