Trafford was the scene, bathed in sunshine early on and then quite nippy as the night wore on. With 70+ athletes already entered into the 3000m and large numbers in all the other BMC and Grand Prix races, it was going to prove a busy night and so it was. (RESULTS)

U20 David Holman followed up his 3000m win at the Northern Indoor Championships with a trip over the 3000m outdoors. Twenty three athletes lined up in the A Race won by Wallsend’s Sam Charlton in 8.18.05 as David came home in a time of 8.54.82 in 16th spot. Bottom of age U15 Emma Robertshaw bagged herself a new PB in the 800m coming home in 3rd position in Heat 6 with a time of 2.41.19 – a six second improvement. Sister Charlotte Robertshaw had set a new PB over 1500m at the Lancashire County Championships and made it a double inside four days as she chopped four seconds off her previous best to set a new PB of 2.28.87 in 4th spot. U17 Ben Stratton had won the Lancashire County Championships over 800m at the weekend and was out again a few days later crossing the finishing line in 2nd place with a seasons best time of 2.02.80. Callum Davidson went in the 1500m BMC A Race – his first track race this year – coming home in 10th spot with a time of 3.58.57. Tim Raynes, getting back into racing after a long injury clocked 4.03.64 in 9th spot in the B Race whilst in the BMC Mens A Race over 800m, Daniel Bebbington clocked 1.51.55 in 6th spot in his first track race of the season. U20 Abigail Stratton went in a mixed 1500m race and clocked a new PB of 4.25.36 as she came home strongly in the finishing straight.
