There were two hundred and forty nine runners in this race won by James Mcllroy from Larne in a time of 32.58. Second in the Race was Karl Billington in a time of 33.44 and speaking to the Club following the Race he said “I finished 2nd today and ran 33.42……would have liked to win but turns out the winner has run 1.44 for 800m, a sub 4 mile and has been to the commonwealth games in India”. A good run by Karl against very good opposition. Three other Harriers also competed on the day with V60 Evan Cook (32nd) in 42.11 and finishing 2nd V60; V40 David Billington in his third Race in the last 16 days finishing in 134th place (55.04) and Claire Bridge 156th with a seasons best of 56.13.

Fleetwood Half-Marathon – 24th August

Five hundred and ten finishers at Fleetwood won by Matt Lalor – who competes for Blackburn on the Track – and running here for his first claim Club Barlick, in a time of 71.19. In third place was Harrier Chris Davies who is targeting the Great North Run and training is clearly going well with a new PB in this Race knocking off just over a minute for a new time of 77.37.

Nick Swinburn won this Bank Holiday Race featuring 189 runners in a time of 12.49. V40 Tom Cubbon ran for Blackburn and placed 103rd in 21.04. Son Daniel competed in the U14 Race finishing 7th in 9.24 and younger brother Matthew ran in the U12 Race with a time of 7.55 (42nd).
