The Salford 10k on Good Friday had 501 runners (RESULTS) and was won by Adam Barber of Harborough AC in 30.46 alongside Leeds AC’s Sarah Potter winning the Women’s race in 35.08. Blackburn Harriers David Almond crossed the line in 37.13 in 102nd and 2nd V55 with team mate Matt Nuttall running 42.30 in 208th.

Easter Saturday saw the sun shining on Rivington Pike Fell Race featuring two hundred and forty one runners – the race being won by Salford’s Joe Steward in 16.36 over a minute in front of Ilkley’s Nathan Edmondson (17.36) and Rossendale’s Grant Cunliffe in 3rd (17.45). York Knaveshire’s Claire Jones won the Womens race in 23.04. (RESULTS). A number of Blackburn Harriers ran the race which saw Stephen Hall the first across the finishing line in 15th spot running 2023. along side team mates Paul Bradshaw in 21st place running a time of 20.44 with Jonny Murphy in 25th position running 21.30.

Well done to Lyra Krige who ran in the Junior Race U15’s Race which had boys and girls racing together. Lyra placed 16th overall and 7th in the girls race. Times have been missed off the official results. (RESULTS)

The weekend before, guess what? Helen Leigh was out racing again – two days running. On April 1st Helen was out at the Birnam Hill Classic – (RESULTS) – which is part of the Scottish Championship Series and featured just short of 300 runners – 297 finishing – the race being won by Alexander Chepelin (Carnethy HRC) in 27.56 with the Women’s race being won by an athlete from the same Club – Holly Page in 34.16. Helen placed 4th in the Woemn’s race in a time of 36.56. The day after she was out again, this time at the Deuchary Hill Canter – (RESULTS) – over 18k which had 85 runners. Helen had a stormer and won the Women’s Race in a time of 1hr 39.20 and looks to be in good shape as she prepares for this years Three Peaks Race. Speaking to the Club afterwards, Helen told us that she “Had a good weekend myself, 4th on sat at the first of the Scottish Hill champs raced in a decent field, then won an 18km fell race the following day still feeling pretty strong!”

The Fleetwood 10k run on Sunday April 2nd saw V50 Keith Gill taking 34th place and 3rd V50 overall out of a field of nearly 200 runners with a time of 45.54.68.
