Catforth 10k – Sunday June 9th

Just over a 100 runners took part in this race which saw Blackburn Harriers Tom Blaney take a comfortable win by over two minutes, crossing the finish line in 35.14 for a pretty solid run going into the wind that characterised athletics events last weekend.

Burnley U11’s Meeting – Sunday June 9th

U11 Boy Matthew Haxton had a pretty good day at Burnley winning the 75m in a time 11.3 at the head of 12 other athletes and then went on to run 1.54.8 for 2nd place out of 12 in the U11 Boys 600m which also featured U11 Felix Thompson, clocking 2.16.2 in 9th place. U11 Girl Harmony Hacking took on the same events finishing 6th out of 9 in the 600m with a time of 2.09.4 and clocking 12.4 in the 75m placing equal 7th out of 13 runners. U10 Boy Liam Bennison made it three Harriers running in these two events which saw Liam come home 2nd out of 5 in the U10  Boys 600m (2.10.4) and then running 13.3 in equal 6th place out of 10.

FIELD RESULTS

Some good perforamnces by these youngsters too in the Field Events which saw Matthew Haxton add to his first and second places on the track, another 1st place in the U11 Boys Long Jump leaping out to 3.77m to take top spot in the eleven strong competition. In the U10 Boys Long Jump – Liam Bennison jumped a distance of 2.30 for 9th spot out of 11 and over in the High Jump – Felix Thompson cleared 1.05m in the U11 Boys event in 2nd place. The Cricket Ball competition which is always popular saw Felix throw 26.88m in 3rd place whilst Harmony Hacking finished 2nd in the U11 Girls with 15.10m.
