The third Team placed 43rd overall with Michelle Teare (26.35), Charlie Coy (24.23) and Catherine Guinan in 28.46. Leon Thomas led off on Leg (1) in the front with several other athletes clocking a time of 11.07 and handing over to Jamie Teare in 4th place. Jamie took it on and ran 11.19 before handing over to Matt Ramsden on the final leg which he ran in the second fastest time of the day (10.35) to overtake all six runners in front of him and clinch the Gold Medal for the Team. Great performance by all the lads.

It was a Bronze Medal in the Lancashire Championships for the U11 Girls featuring Isabelle Hartley on the first leg in 7.12, Kady Thompson on Leg (2) in 7.12 and Hannah Davies running 7.14 on the final leg which was an amazing example of a finely matched team of equal abilities. Overall in the North West the girls placed 16th. Sadly there was a last minute drop out for our second team which meant that Sienna Rose Wareing (7.09) and Molly Grimshaw (7.06), both with very good times had to run as an incomplete Team. Placing 16th out of the 32 Teams in the North West Championships and 3rd in Lancashire all five girls finished in the top ten fastest Legs in the Lancashire Championships.
The U11 Boys also came home with a medal winning Silver in the Lancashire Championships as they finished 7th overall in the North West. That team featured Harry Sambrook (6.13), George Ramsden (6.37) and Oliver Gill (6.25) whilst our second Team finished in 10th place (North West) and 4th in Lancashire led by Matthew Smith on the first leg in 6.26, Daniel Smith on the second in a time of 6.03 and William Dudgeon (7.16) on the final leg. Great running by some of these young lads who were competing for the very first time.
The Clubs U13’s also did themselves proud both boys and girls winning medals. The U13 Girls finished 7th and 25th in the overall North West Championships and took Silver as they came home runners up in the Lancashire Championships – Leah Hoole ran Leg (1) in 13.05, handing over to Caroline Woodworth who clocked 13.53 before Hollie Cubbon on the final Leg cemented that Silver Medal with a time of 13.00. That team had Hayden Mercer run the first leg in 11.45 handing over to Kyle Taylor-Pomfret who had a brilliant leg (11.46) to hand over to Dexta Thompson on the final leg who came home in 2nd spot to clinch the medals.
